Arm Robot on Wheels

This robot is the most complicated thing I have built so far. It uses mecanum wheels for movement and has a robotic arm — totalling 10 servos to drive. It can be controlled with a PS5 controller manually, but also has wrist-mounted cameras for advanced AI features. It also has a color touch screen and a full computer with GPU on board. It is powered by a LiPo battery and has completely custom electronics. From the first ideas to the finished robot, the project took about five months to complete.

Home Sweet Home

Before I got VEX IQ, I used to work with more serious servos. One feature I was used to having was homing. Homing means getting a servo back to its exact starting position so the robot always knows where it is. I found out that in VEX IQ the servos do not have a built-in way to home themselves. At first, this was a little disappointing.

VEX IQ Combination Safe

Recently, I was experimenting with the VEX IQ Championship Kit. The reason is that I will soon be joining a competition team, and I need all the practice I can get. Instead of just building random projects, I decided to make something useful: a combination safe for my sweets. Not only does it keep candy safe from my parents, but it also keeps it safe from me when I am tempted to grab a snack.

From Drag-and-Drop to Code: My 3D Printing Journey

I started learning 3D printing using very simple tool - ToyBox Editor. I could drag and drop shapes into a scene. It was easy to start with, but also annoying. If something didn’t fit right, it was hard to fix. Sometimes I had to delete and rebuild parts again just to make small changes.

Triwheel Bot

I recently built my first drivetrain with three omni directional wheels. At first, I expected the programming to be confusing. My dad even told me that I would probably need to use trigonometry to make everything work correctly. I had no idea what that “trigonometry” was about and because of that, I imagined I would be dealing with lots of difficult equations and complex calculations.

IR Turret

This was originally a Hack Pack foam-rocket-shooting IR-controlled turret — the first robot I built that used an Arduino controller. After assembling it, I started customizing the program and added a feature that lets me lock the turret with a remote controller and a PIN code. Then I noticed that it still had some extra pins available, and I wondered what else I could add. And that is where I went off the rails!
